Chapter 5

A Piece in the Puzzle

Take a moment to consider your strongest relationships.

What relationships do you have? With whom?

Are they interconnected and, if so, how?

Compare your relationships- what is different and what is similar? What am I giving and what am I getting?

Do you feel that some relationships have changed over time while others haven't?

Below are some thoughts about relationships from a variety of perspectives:

Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you: you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for. Bob Marley

Sister is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship. Margaret Mead

We are afraid to care too much, for fear that the other person does not care at all. - Eleanor Roosevelt

You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. Plato

Love does not claim possession, but gives freedom.
Rabindranath Tagore

The only way to have a friend is to be one.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
